SHEM32E Differential Controller

The SHEM 32 E differential controller was designed specifically for SHEM systems having a time and temperature activated internal electric element. We have designed a differential controller that allows the internal heating element to turn on 3times during a 24-hour period, so that the electric element will not turn on during the day when solar energy is available. The system comes preprogrammed for standard hot water usage patterns, but the controller can be re-set for customization to individual preferences. See the SHEM32E Controller for re-setting the THET function. The controller also comes with a function to over-ride the timing function. If in an unusual case the tank is depleted during a time when the timer is off, the Heater button on the front of the controller triggers this function, and the element comes on to heat the tank to it’s set temperature.

Technologically Advanced
The SHEM32E Solar Hot Water System Controller is designed with flexibility and safety in mind. It is set up to be used with the Simple Drainback and traditional drainback systems, but it has the functions that enable it to control any standard pressurized system as well.

It is set up for a standard two sensor single pump system controlled by the differential between sensors 1 and 2. It can also be set for a multiple tank system with the first pump output to charge the solar tank and another pump output to move the heat to additional storage tanks. The second pump is controlled using the differential between sensor 2 and 3.

Working With The Simple Drainback
The Shem32 is preprogrammed to optimallly control the Simple Drainback system designed by Solar Heat Exchange Manufacturing. It's factory settings will also work for most drainback systems. Temperature control settings can be adjusted for custom systems and advanced applications.

Pressurized Systems
The Shem32 comes with capabilities to handle standard pressurized glycol and water systems. The factory setting can be quickly adjusted to handle virtually any standard system.

Passcode Protected
The SHEM32 has a 4 digit passcode that can be programmed by the installer to protect against unwanted access. This safety feature guarantees that critical system settings are not accidentally or unknowingly changed.
